The aim of this project is to target secondary schools across the Blackburn and Darwen area to promote community cohesion and inter-faith dialogue.

The project aims to do the following:

• Look at issues of concern to the young people but in a relaxed way.  Taking the Youth Action style to schools.
• Allow the young people an opportunity to speak about the issues of concern to them.
• Deliver in total 4 sessions to each school, where young people will look at the issue of community cohesion and produce creative writing pieces.  These will be entered into a Borough-wide competition.
• Establish strong working partnerships with schools across the Blackburn and Darwen area.
• Make young people more informed about the services that are accessible to them in the Blackburn and Darwen area to make them more active citizens.

There will be a major Youth Action community event in 2008 where the winner of this project will be announced.
